Warp credits reset monthly, but purchased usage runs on its own clock
Included usage renews each month and does not roll over; purchased usage lasts a year. UsageAtlas shows the reset Warp reports.

Warp credits reset once a month: the included usage on your plan renews monthly, even if you pay yearly, and anything you did not use is gone. Purchased usage works differently, since it carries over and expires 12 months after you buy it. To see your own reset date, open Settings > Billing and usage in Warp, or let UsageAtlas show it next to your other AI tools.
Three clocks, not one
Most confusion about a Warp credits reset comes from mixing up three separate timers. Warp's pricing FAQ and purchased usage page describe them like this:
| Timer | What happens | Rolls over? |
|---|---|---|
| Included usage | Renews every month, per seat | No |
| Purchased usage | Lasts 12 months from purchase | Yes, until it expires |
| Team spend limit | Caps purchases and auto-reloads each month | Not a balance |
The spend limit cycle can run on different dates from your included-usage reset. On the Free plan it starts at the beginning of each calendar month in UTC.
Which balance Warp spends first
Warp draws on your included allowance first. Only once that is used does it move to purchased usage. On a team, shared team purchases are spent before purchases tied to a single member.
That order matters near the end of a month. If your included usage is about to reset, a long agent run may still be covered by it, and your purchased balance stays untouched. If included usage ran out a week ago, every task now eats into the balance you paid for.
Expiry is not a reset
A reset gives you a fresh allowance. An expiry takes away purchased usage that sat unused for a year. They can land close together on the calendar, but one adds and the other removes. Treat a looming expiry as a reason to use the purchased balance, not as a sign that more is on the way.
Finding your reset date
Inside Warp, Settings > Billing and usage lists the reset date beside your included allowance and purchased balance. In the Warp Agent CLI, /usage opens a panel with the same account-level picture.
Outside Warp, UsageAtlas can show it for you. It is a free, open-source desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux that tracks AI coding tools. Connect a Warp API key under Settings > Sources, and the Limits page shows monthly use, the reset Warp reports, and add-on balances, with workspace pools kept separate from your own.
Two details make it a good fit for reset tracking:
- It keeps an expiring purchase apart from a reset, so you never get a reset alert for a balance that is about to disappear.
- It can warn you when remaining capacity drops below a level you choose, for windows where Warp reports a known allowance.
If you only use Warp and check Billing and usage often, the built-in screen does the job. UsageAtlas helps most when Warp is one of several tools, each with its own reset day.
What a reset will not fix
A reset restores your included allowance, nothing more. It does not refill purchased usage, and it does not change how fast tasks use it up. Warp notes that the same prompt can cost different amounts depending on the model and the work involved, so a fresh month can still disappear quickly with heavy agent use. If you hit the wall mid-month, Warp's options are buying more usage, changing plans, or bringing your own API key.
