OpenCode pricing starts at zero: the coding agent itself is free and open source, and you pay only for the AI models it calls. As of November 2026 there are five ways to cover those models, from free trial models to OpenCode Go at $10 a month, and the cheapest one depends on what you already pay for.
Prices below come from OpenCode's Go page and model price list, checked on November 3, 2026.
OpenCode pricing at a glance
| Way to pay | What it costs | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Free models | Nothing, for a limited time | Trying it out |
| OpenCode Models | Per million tokens, by model | Occasional use of top models |
| OpenCode Go | $10, $40, or $20 per team member a month | Steady daily use |
| Your own plan or API key | Your provider's price | People who already pay someone |
| Enterprise | Custom quote | Companies with their own AI gateway |
The free route
OpenCode comes with a set of free models that need no account. They are free for a limited time and capped by a daily request limit. Read the terms per model: OpenCode notes that some providers use this period to collect feedback, while others keep zero retention. If you would rather not see them, an environment setting hides them.
Pay as you go with OpenCode Models
Sign in to the OpenCode console, add credits and copy an API key. Each request is charged at the model's token price. Two examples from the list: Claude Haiku 5.5 is $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.50 per million output tokens, while Claude Fable 5.1 is $10 and $50. Each credit purchase adds a processing fee of 4.6% plus $0.31, and auto-recharge with budgets keeps the balance from running dry.
OpenCode Go plans
Go is a flat monthly subscription for a curated set of coding models, mostly open-weight ones.
- Go: $10 a month.
- Go Plus: $40 a month, with higher limits.
- Go Teams: $20 per member a month, each member with their own allowance.
Allowances differ by model and are counted over five-hour, weekly and monthly windows. When you hit one, you can turn on Extra Usage so requests draw from your credit balance, or fall back to the free models. You can cancel any time, and the plan runs to the end of the paid period.
Bring a plan or key you already have
If you pay for ChatGPT Plus or Pro, you can sign in with it and OpenCode shows those models with no cost, since usage counts against your ChatGPT plan. GitHub Copilot accounts with Copilot Chat access connect the same way. Any other provider's API key works at that provider's rates, and local models through Ollama or LM Studio cost only your own hardware.
Teams and companies
OpenCode Enterprise is priced by quote. The enterprise page says that if you route requests through your own LLM gateway, OpenCode does not charge for the tokens.
Seeing what you actually spend
The catch with a free tool that talks to many providers is that your costs end up spread across several bills. UsageAtlas is our pick to pull them together. It is a free desktop app that reads the usage OpenCode stores on your computer and turns tokens and models into an estimated cost, day by day, next to your other coding tools.
The estimate is a guide, not an invoice, so check each provider's bill when the number has to be exact. If every request goes through a single provider, that provider's billing page may tell you enough on its own.
