The process and Interview experience for SDE 1 role at MongoDB.

Below are the details for all the stages of the SDE 1 interview process at MongoDB and also interview questions and what type of technical questions are asked at MongoDB for the SDE (Software Development Engineer) role.

MongoDB SDE 1 Interview Process Round 1

It was an HackerRank coding test online where we are given some coding questions to solve in a given amount of time. Questions were mostly medium-level leetcode in my case.

MongoDB SDE 1 Interview Process Round 2

It was a face-to-face technical round where there was 1 coding question asked and it had to be solved within 60 minutes of the time limit and have to explain your approach. The question was:

  • Implement a queue using stack.

MongoDB SDE 1 Interview Process Round 3

It was again another face-to-face technical round where there was 1 coding question asked and it had to be solved in 60 minutes of the time limit and you had to explain your approach. . The question was:

  • In a binary tree, find the length of the path from node x to node y.

MongoDB SDE 1 Interview Process Round 4

It was a technical round again but this time they asked a design a system for a given problem statement. It was long, so I don't remember it exactly, but it was a system design question. And there was around a 60-minute time limit.

Last Round

It was more of a managerial round I would say as it was more about discussing the final offer and some questions and answer if we have to ask and Stuff.

Overall, it was a good experience. As you can see, all the rounds were mostly based on coding questions and system design. But prepare as much as possible as there is nowhere written that this will be the format of the interview process in your case too.Good Luck!
