Biggest acquisition in the gaming industry, Microsoft to buy Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion

For $68.7 billion, Microsoft plans to acquire Activision Blizzard, the publisher of Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, and Diablo. The deal will make Microsoft the world's third-biggest gaming company by revenue, behind Tencent and Sony.

Furthermore, Xbox Game Pass will also include Activision's games. Thereafter, they will have the right to publish world-famous franchises like Warcraft, Diablo, Overwatch, Call of Duty, and Candy Crush.

Phil Spencer, Microsoft's chief of gaming, stated, "As soon as Game Pass is closed, we will offer as many Activision Blizzard games as possible, both brand new titles and classic titles from Activision Blizzard's catalog."

According to Microsoft, there are 25 million subscribers to Xbox Game Pass.
