BenQ showcased several new products at CES, including a pair of gaming-oriented projectors. The company saw CES as a key growth market.
The X3000i (pictured above) is a 4K DLP variant with a 3,000 lumen LED light source and 100 percent DCI-P3 color coverage. The BenQ TK700 is a lamp-driven 4K DLP display with 3,200 lumens and 96 percent Rec.709 color coverage. Both projectors support HDR10 and can project a 100-inch screen from a distance of 8 to 11 feet.
Both new models take a 4K/120Hz input signal from the latest PS5 and Xbox Series X gaming consoles, though BenQ recommends setting the console to Auto output for best motion performance, which prioritizes a 120Hz refresh rate above 4K resolution.
I saw a sample of the X3000i, a model that BenQ recommends for open-world games due to its better color capability and reduced input lag (8.3ms with a 1080p/120Hz source), and the performance was outstanding with the PlayStation titles BenQ used.
In March, the 3000i will go on sale for $1,999, and the TK700 will go on sale for $1,499 by the end of January.
